DING, Saishuai (2019-20 Intake, Full-time)
China Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation Ltd, Shanghai
Position: Manager Assistant of Risk Control

It’s a memorable and valuable year for me to study MSc(DDM) at HKUST.

The courses in this program are well designed which cover various technology areas including data visualization, numerical modelling, machine learning, etc. Besides that, we also had many chances to work on different team projects, from which I obtained practice experience on solving real-world data problems and I became more confident when making presentations.

Though the program is young, the program put a lot emphasis on our feedback and offered us various chances of having talks with acknowledged experts in data-related areas, which had broadened my horizons greatly.

SHUM Tsz Hin, Hinz (2019-20 Intake, Full-time)
Census & Statistics Department, HKSAR Government, Hong Kong
Position: Statistician (Trade Statistics Processing)

I was determined to pursue postgraduate studies when I was caught sight of a job vacancy requiring a minimum of master's degree in Statistics-related field.

Despite graduating with one of the top undergraduate degrees in Hong Kong, MSc(DDM) further equipped me with advantageous knowledge and skillsets which facilitated my pursuit of success. In MSc(DDM), not only did I strengthen my understanding of Finance, Innovation, Statistics, Mathematics and Data-Modelling, but I am also transformed into a more mature person through reinforcing my soft skills.

Eventually, I accomplished what I chased from the very beginning – thanks to the nutrition and guidance from MSc(DDM).
